Amazon Pledges $100M for Affordable Housing in Bellevue

Marta Rodriguez June 10, 2025

In a major boost for regional housing affordability, Amazon has committed $100 million to support the development of 234 affordable housing units in Bellevue’s Spring District.

📊 The initiative, part of the company’s broader Housing Equity Fund, is designed to expand housing options for families earning 60% or less of the area median income.

🤝 A Strategic Partnership

Partnering with BRIDGE Housing, Amazon will help bring these units to life near the Spring District’s future light rail station.

🏡 Forty of the homes will be reserved specifically for residents with developmental disabilities — a first for this area.

🏙️ A Broader Vision for Bellevue

Bellevue's broader housing strategy aims to create or preserve 5,700 affordable homes over the next decade, and Amazon's investment is expected to significantly accelerate that goal.

🚉 The location's proximity to transit, plus reduced parking requirements, supports more inclusive and sustainable community growth.

💬 Takeaway

This isn’t just a real estate story; it’s about corporate responsibility, community needs, and long-term growth for Bellevue.
